As you can tell by my cringey pun this post is all about my essential berry/red/purple winter lipsticks.
The Dark Reds
Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick: Wine 107
So lets start with the infamous 107, the winter lip of all winter lips. This shade is a typical dark berry red and is very wearable for someone dipping their hand into the pot of dark lips. I absolutely love the formula for these lipsticks, they are one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks EVER and they smell good enough to eat (don’t try it, lipstick teeth for years).
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick: Sultry Sable 646
This is probably my most worn dark lipstick this winter! This shade is darker and more cool toned compared to Rimmel 107. Also the formula is more of a sheen finish there for it takes two layers to go opaque but i love the color so much its worth it. with any of these Revlon lipsticks i would recommend wearing a lip liner, due to their formula they tend to bleed.
M.A.C Satin Lipstick: Rebel
This lipstick is such a unique color, i have never seen another one similar to it. Even though it looks really dark in the bullet when applied to the lips it is actually quite a bright purple fuchsia. The satin formula makes it really comfortable to wear whilst still looking semi-matte and long lasting. I love to wear this lipstick with a really simple eye look; just eyeliner, mascara and tones of highlight.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick: Black Cherry 477(top) and Va Va Violet 663 (bottom)
Black cherry is very similar to sultry sable but when swatched next to each other the brown in sultry sable is really brought out and black cherry is a brighter purple.
Barry M Lip Liner: Plum 11
I pair this lip liner with all my dark purple lipsticks as it is a perfect universal shade to go under them. I also like to use it to darken up other berry lipsticks in order to get that ombre effect. The formula as quite hard which means that it will last on the lips all day, but i would not recommend wearing this as an all over lip color without lots of lip balm.
The Classic Red
M.A.C. Matte Lipstick: Russian Red
This is a lovely blue toned red that makes those pearly whites look dazzling. Even though i love this lipstick the formula can make it difficult to wear sometimes in the winter, lets just say its not one to wear with chapped lips. On the plus side its extremely matte formula does make it really long lasting.
MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer: Reckless
Don’t worry you read that right, just £3!!! I love these MUA liquid lipsticks. This shade is my favourite festive night out lip as it is super long lasting and will stay in place whilst eating. They also smell really good and are not too trying on the lips, you can rub your lips together without it flaking off.
Anymore lipsticks that anyone can recommend for me to put on my Christmas list?
